How does SplitPay work?
SplitPay allows you to spread the cost of a purchase online with Red Rat over 6 fortnightly or 12 weekly installments, interest free! There's no sign up costs or hidden fees. The only time you'll pay extra is if you miss a payment.
Do i have to spend a certain amount to pay with SplitPay?
Yes, you must spend $80 or more to pay with SplitPay.
If i have an EZPay account, can i still apply for SplitPay?
No, you can only apply for one account, either SplitPay or EZPay.

To make a complaint, please follow these steps:

Contact us: The first step is to contact us directly, either by phone, email, or in writing. Our customer service team will be happy to assist you and help resolve your complaint as quickly as possible.

Provide details: Please provide as much information as possible about the complaint, including any relevant dates, times, and order numbers. This will help us to investigate the issue thoroughly and provide an appropriate resolution.

Keep records: Make sure to keep a record of any correspondence related to the complaint, including dates and times of phone calls and emails. This will help you to keep track of the progress of your complaint.

Escalate if necessary: If you are not satisfied with the initial response, you can ask to escalate your complaint to a manager or supervisor. They will review the issue and work with you to find a resolution.

We take all complaints seriously and will do our best to resolve your issue in a timely and satisfactory manner.
What do I need to apply?
You'll need a current New Zealand Driver's License or Passport, credit or debit card and your contact details. That's it!
Which cards can I use with SplitPay?
We accept credit and debit cards from Mastercard and Visa which were issued in your country of residence. We do not accept foreign issued cards for overseas banks or pre-paid cards.
How do I pay?
At the time of purchase you can select whether you would like to pay via 6 fortnightly or 12 weekly payments. Once selected and your order placed, you will be given a payment schedule and each payment will be charged automatically to your selected card.
When will my first payment be taken?
Your first payment will be made at the time of purchase and then on each day as set out in your payment schedule.
Can I make changes to my payments or reduce my payments?
You can change your payment dates or payment amount by calling us, sending us an email/chat to request change in payment date or payment amount.
Can I make an early payment?
Yes! You can pay all or some installments early. Just log into your Red Rat online account and you can select which payment you would like to make early in the SplitPay dashboard by clicking 'Pay now'.
Can I pay some of an installment?
No, you must pay the amount set out in your payment schedule as they fall due.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment, a late fee of $10 will be added to your total outstanding. A maximum of 2 late fees apply per order. Each late fee will be spread amongst the remaining installments.
If the amount you owe remains outstanding, we may instruct a debt collection agency to to collect the amount you owe, incurring an additional $45 fee. A maximum of 1 fee per order is applied.
How can I make up a missed payment?
You can make up a missed payment by logging into your online Red Rat account and paying via the SplitPay dashboard.
What can I do if I'm suffering financial hardship?
If you're experiencing financial hardship, please contact us on 0800 728 728 and speak to one of our friendly team members.
Can I return my order and get a refund?
Yes, you can return your order by sending it back to the Red Rat Distribution Centre as long as it is eligible under the Red Rat returns policy. Once your return is accepted, we will cancel any future installments and refund any money owing to the original payment source. For more on returns, click here.
Can I return some of my order and get a refund?
Yes, you can return part of your order by sending it back to the Red Rat Distribution Centre as long as it is eligible for return under the Red Rat returns policy and the amount will be taken off your total to pay. If you have paid off your order, you will be refunded any money already paid to your original card. For more on returns, click here.
